Lebanon's military accuses Israel of breaching a ceasefire
with Hezbollah as the fragile truce enters its third day.
Meanwhile, medical sources in Gaza report at least 42
fatalities from intensified Israeli airstrikes and advancing tanks in the north
and south of the territory.
Israeli attacks on
Gaza have killed at least 44,330 Palestinians and injured 104,933 since October
7, 2023. On the same day, Hamas-led attacks in Israel resulted in 1,139 deaths
and over 200 captives.
In Lebanon, Israeli
strikes have claimed 3,961 lives and injured 16,520 since the conflict began.
Israel's attacks on Gaza continued overnight, including
three strikes in northern Gaza City that killed 10 people, among them women and
children. In central Gaza, Israeli fighter jets targeted a home in the Nuseirat
refugee camp, resulting in at least five deaths.
Israel’s Minister of Housing and Construction, Yitzchak
Goldknopf, suggested that expanding Jewish settlements in Gaza would be an
appropriate response to the October 7 attacks, despite the International
Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell has expressed concern
over rising extremism in Israel, warning that "the colonization of the
mind" poses a significant threat to Israeli society. Meanwhile, the
Israeli military has notified the family of a Palestinian detainee in Bal’a,
near Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank, of plans to demolish their home.
